Scores of Wall Street financiers will get a chance to bend President Obama’s ear when he heads to the aptly-chosen Purchase, N.Y. for a major fundraiser with one of his top bundlers Friday.
The event is being held at the home of Robert Wolf, former CEO of UBS Americas, who now heads 32 Advisors, Democratic sources told The Post.
The event is being billed a “Labor Day barbecue” for 250 high-rollers kicking in up to $32,000 each, which sets up the Westchester event to be a huge cash haul for the Democratic National Committee at a time when the party is fighting headwinds in the off-year elections.
Wolf golfed with Obama on the president’s vacation on Martha’s Vineyard earlier this month, joining a foursome that included private equity investor Glenn Hutchins.
Wolf, a close Obama pal, bundled more than $1.3 million for the president and Democrats during Obama’s reelection — placing him in an elite group who raised more than $1 million, according to a 2012 New York Times report.
No time for rest when you can party with the fatcat elites of the Democratic Party.
After Friday’s event, Obama flies to well-heeled Newport, R.,I. for an event to benefit House Democrats. Tickets will go for $10,000 to $32,000, a Newport NBC affiliate reported.
We just hope ISIS doesn’t do anything bad while he’s busy focusing on his No. 1 priority.
202 years ago this week, First Lady Dolly Madison saved the famous portrait of George Washington from the White House during the War of 1812. If it happened today, Obama would probably save his golf clubs!~~FB comment
