"As reported by the National Review, “A Florida Republican congressional candidate’s campaign sign was vandalized with whiteface paint last week in a district with overwhelmingly Democratic voter registration. The attack follows a string of bias incidents against black Republicans.”
“Glo Smith, who reports that she has also had a number of signs stolen, tells National Review Online she became aware of the racist defacement of an eight-foot-by-four-foot sign Tuesday. The sign was situated on private property in view of Interstate 10 in Jacksonville.”
I know Glo Smith and her story is one of individual triumph and success, which should be celebrated. However, in the real War on Women — especially conservative black women — she is to be degraded and disrespected by the so-called “champions of civil rights.”
Do you think there will be any coverage of this by the mainstream media? Will John Lewis, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, or Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) stand up and condemn this action?
Nah, I ain’t holding my breath. Especially after the 2012 election cycle when a TV commercial was done depicting me with a gold tooth, punching white women — nothing was said. And you may recall the “birthing tubes” cartoon of Condoleeza Rice and the white face caricature of Michael Steele. See, when you swim against the current of black dogma, in the minds of progressive blacks and white progressive socialists, you get what you deserve.
The vandal sprayed white paint over the face of Smith, very carefully in order to keep her eyes untouched. The National Review notes that “Smith is challenging long-sitting Democratic Congresswoman Corinne Brown (who is also black) in Florida’s Fifth Congressional District, a serpentine product of post-2010 redistricting where Democratic registration is above 60 percent. This year two Republicans are vying to end Brown’s 21-year House career. Smith, a former staffer for Governor Rick Scott whose full name is Gloreatha Scurry-Smith, will face fellow Republican Thuy Lowe in a late-August primary.”
“We expect signs to be tampered with or stolen,” Smith says, “but not to this extent.” Her Republican opponent, Thuy Lowe, who was born in Vietnam, acknowledged that her own signs have been vandalized in previous campaigns and speculated that Corinne Brown loyalists may have been behind the attacks, adding, “Glo is well-respected in the conservative community.”
Interestingly, Corrine Brown’s office declined a request for comment."
The silence from the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the Democrats, including Barack Obama, is deafening.
"It's inexcusable, and Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it. I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in any agency, but especially in the IRS, given the power that it has and the reach that it has into all of our lives. ... I'll do everything in my power to make sure nothing like this happens again by holding the responsible parties accountable. ..." -- President Barack Obama condemning "misconduct" at the Internal Revenue Service, May 15, 2013.
"The silence from the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the Democrats, including Barack Obama, is deafening."
And there won't be anything BUT silence either. Isn't it true that in their small minds Ms. Smith has wondered from the safety of the Liberal's platform [plantation] and is just getting what she deserves?
It's bigoted and as racist as anything they decry.
