Trump Admin Rescinds DAPA Amnesty Program Peter Hasson Associate Editor 10:55 PM 06/15/2017
The Trump administration has fulfilled another one of Donald Trump’s campaign promises by rescinding the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) program implemented under Barack Obama that could have allowed as many as five million illegal aliens with children who are citizens or lawful permanent residents to remain in the country if they met certain criteria. Do You Agree With Trump's Decision To Rescind DAPA?
DAPA was blocked by the courts from implementation, which the Department of Homeland Security cited as a reason for rescinding the program. A DHS press released said Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly signed a memorandum rescinding DAPA on Thursday because “there is no credible path forward to litigate the currently enjoined policy.”
The program had been challenged by 26 states after Obama issued it in November 2014. The Supreme Court deadlocked when ruling on the constitutionality of the program in June 2016, splitting the vote 4-4 due to the empty seat at the time left by late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
One of Trump’s signature campaign promises was that he would rescind both DAPA and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program if elected president.
The DHS press release added, however, that the June 2012 Obama memorandum creating DACA will remain in effect. That program applies to certain illegal aliens in the U.S. who arrived as children and met specific criteria.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton repeatedly praised the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigration in his Friday interview with The Daily Caller, saying the administration has had unprecedented success with stopping illegal crossings, which Paxton said is an important issue to Texans.
“They’ve done more than any administration in the history of the world,” Paxton said when asked if he thought the Trump administration had done enough to keep Trump’s campaign promises regarding illegal immigration.
IIRC there have been decades of proganda saying it was impossible to secure the border. Yet bit by bit, step by stepTrump's administration is reversing the policy of wide open borders.

H-1B Reform Policy Closes ‘Diploma Mill’ Loophole by John Binder3 Jun 2017Washington, D.C.71 A new policy adopted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) will close a tiny loophole that allowed foreign nationals from non-accredited institution to obtain H-1B visas to remain in the U.S. as workers.
Every year, more than 100,000 foreign workers are brought to the U.S. on the H-1B visa. Most recently, that number has ballooned to potentially hundreds of thousands each year, as universities and non-profits are exempt from the cap. With more entering the U.S. through the visa, Americans are often replaced.
Under the new guidelines, the school where a foreign national obtains their degree must be an accredited U.S. institution of higher education in order to apply for an H-1B visa that is exempt from the 85,000 a year cap. The institution must now be an accredited school at the time that the foreign national obtains their diploma.
Institutions which pump out diplomas for foreign nationals with the purpose of getting them H-1B visas afterward in order to remain in the U.S. are referred to as “diploma mills,” as the Center for Immigration Studies’ David North has written
H-1B visa expert John Miano, who wrote the book Sold Out with Michelle Malkin, told Breitbart Texas that the move to close the small loophole shows a change in direction for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) who he says has been “unshackled” by President Trump’s administration.
