The Traveling Wall which honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam is currently in my community. I went out to see it earlier this evening and to pay my respect to my fallen comrades. I know only one person who is on it with certainty (he and I went to high school together), but every time I see the Wall, either in person or the traveling version, I wonder how many others on there I may have known as my time of service covers the period when the buildup began. No, didn't go. Went to Korea instead and the older I get the more I wonder if I should have declined those orders and instead volunteered for 'Nam. Perhaps my service was in the hands of God.
