LA School Superintendent Mohammed Z. Islam (yes it's his real name) Retreats – Withdraws Assignment Claiming Holocaust A Hoax
Creeping Sharia revealed in the Rialto, California school district students were given an assignment to debate the Holocaust as a hoax. When the story was first reported, the Superintendent Mohammed Z. Islam—can’t make this stuff up—claimed the intent of the assignment was to encourage “critical thinking.” Not sure how denying reality contributes to “critical thinking,” but that was the initial excuse.
The media also covered for the district in early reports claiming that no parents complained about the assignment. If few complained, then why is the Rialto school board having an emergency meeting on the Holocaust assignment? Meeting details posted on their home page capture below:
The revised media reports show district spokesperson—Syeda Jafri—assuring everyone that the staff will undergo “sensitivity training” for such an assignment (a.k.a. increased indoctrination). As if Syeda Jafri and Mohammed Z. Islam can be trusted to give proper “sensitivity training”—sheesh.
Oh… and there’s the usual cries of victimhood via death threats. Expect CAIR to be on the airways crying Islamophobia in 3… 2… 1….
Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch reports the following:
The assignment asked students to write about whether the Holocaust was “merely a political scheme created to influence public emotion and gain.” Has any reporter had the guts to inquire as to whose idea this was? Was Superintendent Islam aware of the assignment before it aroused controversy? And now police are saying that Islam received death threats because of the assignment, even though we’re also told in this article that no parents complained about it. Have police actually seen the threats received? Are they sure that the threats themselves weren’t fabricated to deflect unwelcome attention and claim victim status, as we have seen in so many cases? In any case, they posted guards outside school district headquarters: threats or claimed threats to Muslims always get action, while death threats against counter-jihadists (I just got another yesterday) get scant law enforcement attention. They’re just business as usual. [...]

PamelaGeller reminds us of the following:
Holocaust denial is being explored in our nation’s public school districts. Now we see how low the public school system has sunk … to the depths of hell. Reality is being debated in the public school. Truth is murdered, reason is a thought-crime, morality an unspeakable evil.
Recognizing reality is subject to a club of destroyers bent on imposing their subversive, evil agenda.
In 1945, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander, anticipated that someday an attempt would be made to recharacterize the Nazi crimes as propaganda and took steps against it:
The same day I saw my first horror camp. It was near the town of Gotha. I have never been able to describe my emotional reactions when I first came face to face with indisputable evidence of Nazi brutality and ruthless disregard of every shred of decency. Up to that time I had known about it only generally or through secondary sources. I am certain however, that I have never at any time experienced an equal sense of shock.
I visited every nook and cranny of the camp because I felt it my duty to be in a position from then on to testify at first hand about these things in case there ever grew up at home the belief or assumption that “the stories of Nazi brutality were just propaganda”. Some members of the visiting party were unable to go through with the ordeal. I not only did so but as soon as I returned to Patton‘s headquarters that evening I sent communications to both Washington and London, urging the two governments to send instantly to Germany a random group of newspaper editors and representative groups from the national legislatures. I felt that the evidence should be immediately placed before the American and the British publics in a fashion that would leave no room for cynical doubt. [...]
