"further review", is it? In far Left Portland that means, of course, they are going to get away with rioting. After all, they may have been a bit exuberant but consider the evil they were protesting.
ZitatPORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - Criminal charges against more than 100 people arrested during last week's post-election protests and riot in Portland have been dismissed for the time being, pending further review.
The Portland Police Bureau and the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office released a joint statement saying nearly all off the criminal cases would not be charged and arraigned Monday.
Police and the district attorney said that while those arrested will learn that their cases have been no-complainted for the time being, they will still be reviewed and evaluated for possible prosecution at a later date.
These people weren't arrested for not doing nothing and the officials of Portlandia have just given them and others like them license to tear up the city at will. They have also demonstrated election results are meaningless there and the mob can show its displeasure over outcomes whenever they wish with no consequences.
ZitatAbout 4,000 protesters took to the streets in Portland, Oregon last night -- more than 20 arrested as radicals turned the demonstration into a disgraceful spectacle.
Now I lived in Portland. It's a beautiful place but run by permissive, progressive people.
They have allowed the downtown area to become a squatters haven, full of drug addicts and alcoholics who lay about, sometimes menacing passers-by.
Tough place to take kids.
So it comes as no surprise that the City of Roses has become ground zero for anarchy.
The solution to violent protest is to charge anyone who destroys property or hurts another person with rioting.
That's a Class C felony in Oregon, carrying a prison term of up to five years.
But I can tell you that will not happen in Portland. Most of these anarchists will receive no punishment whatsoever.
More than half of arrested anti-Trump protesters didn't vote in Oregon Kyle Iboshi, KGW 9:14 PM. PST November 14, 2016
Portland, Ore.—More than half of the anti-Trump protesters arrested in Portland didn’t vote in Oregon, according to state election records.
At least sixty-nine demonstrators either didn’t turn in a ballot or weren’t registered to vote in the state.
KGW compiled a list of the 112 people arrested by the Portland Police Bureau during recent protests. Those names and ages, provided by police, were then compared to state voter logs by Multnomah County Elections officials.
Records show 34 of the protesters arrested didn’t return a ballot for the November 8 election. Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren’t registered to vote in Oregon.
Twenty-five protesters who were arrested did vote.
KGW is still working to verify voting records for the remaining 17 protesters who were arrested.
This article originally stated that 35 people were registered to vote and did not. One woman who was arrested told KGW she recently moved to Washington and did vote in Washington. She was also registered to vote in Oregon.
