More Than 2 Dozen Pro-Trump Flash Mobs Popping Up Across Michigan Tuesday August 30, 2016 6:34 AM
WARREN (WWJ) – Ahead of Donald Trump’s visit to court black voters in Detroit this weekend, supporters are holding more than two dozen flash mobs across the state.
In metro Detroit, the flash mobs are happening at 4 p.m. Tuesday in several locations: 8 Mile and Haggerty (Meijer) in Northville; Rochester Road just north of M-59 (Lowes) in Rochester Hills; Pontiac Trail and M-5 in Commerce Township; M-59 and Bogie Lake Road (Meijer) in White Lake; Telegraph and 12 Mile (Meijer) in Southfield; 12 Mile and Van Dyke in Warren; 23 Mile and Gratiot (Meijer) in Chesterfield; Telegraph and Stewart (Meijer) in Monroe; Ann Arbor Road and Haggerty in Plymouth; and Telegraph and Champaign in Taylor.
At each location, volunteers will rally and show Trump signs to commuters. Oakland County Co-Chair for the Trump Campaign Meshawn Maddock says the “make-your-own-sign event” is a chance to reach out to people who aren’t active at the ballot box.
“We’re calling it a flash mob sign rally and basically we’re just gathering on really busy intersections and just showing people that are out there that may not be as politically minded that hey, we’ve got an election coming up,” Maddock told WWJ’s Dave Ramos.
Maddock said she got the idea for homemade Trump signs because nobody can seem to find them around here.
“Part of our thought process is let people make their own signs,” she said. “We’ve got ‘Honk for Trump,’ ‘Women for Trump, ‘ Hillary Clinton: Lock her up.'”

The billionaire businessman is visiting Great Faith Ministries in Detroit, a predominantly black church, where he’s expected to talk about education, unemployment, and safety. Experts say the visit is meant to dispel the fears of suburbanites in swing state Michigan about Trump’s commitment to black causes.
