Zitat5 Mile Café owner Jennifer Aquino was denied the right to hang a “God Bless America” banner on the porch of her establishment by the town of Penfield in upstate New York — a denial anemically justified by the town via a code which classifies the banner as an “advertisement.”
Yeah, she’s hanging it anyway.
After the town's absurd denial of the patriotic banner, Aquino displayed it anyhow as a way to honor those who suffered due to the Orlando terror attack.
“After the happenings in the news this past week I have decided, against the Towns [sic] wishes, to display my ‘God Bless America’ banner,” Aquino announced Thursday on Facebook. “It is a sign of my patriotism and support of all of the victims and families of the recent violence in our country. In these times we need God's hand and blessing on us. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!”

Since announcing that she will hang the sign despite the town’s denial, Aquino informed The Daily Wire that Penfield director of development services Jim Costello sent her an email telling her to take down the banner.
But Aquino hasn’t, and she says she has “no intention” of doing so. “Yup, the banner is still up.” she said.
Aquino views the town's actions as an infringement of her basic First Amendment rights: “I think God needs to bless us right now,” she told the Democrat and Chronicle. “This is freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and I’m being told I can’t put it up.”
