It is said that Jesus Christ spoke more about Hell than any other topic. That would "suggest" to me then that Hell just might be real.
Who ya gonna believe then - the Son of God or a heretic of his church?
Watching that video reminded me of something that I saw years ago (probably scribbled on a bathroom wall): (this is how we communicated before tweets and emails)
"GOD IS DEAD" ~Nietzsche
And scribbled below that, illustrating Who always has the last word in these matters:
Jesus came to make us fully human by dealing with that one problem that keeps us from being "fully human" - sin. We can't do it ourselves for ourselves as the heretic suggests. Separate a man from his sin and he is free. Tell him to be more human and he remains chained to his sins. Jesus explained it pretty well to the Jews who felt they were fine the way they were in John 8:31-38.

"If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out." Mark 9:43
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
Lemme see. The words of the Master or those of this guy Spong? Wow, tough call.
Just goes to show you how unprepared this reporter is or more likely sympathetic to Spong. All he had to do was quote Jesus and ask Spong who is the greater authority, he or the Messiah?
