How many more laws will need to passed as society deteriorates around us before we all have just had enough? TK, perhaps I misunderstand what you are saying but this issue does not involve any new laws. In fact, quite the opposite, we are talking about the nullification of existing laws. As a result if a male uses a rest room assigned to women there is nothing you can do and this is moot:
P.S. " I'm in California". My condolences. I thought you were headed to ID. What happened?
Cincy, I thought new law was created. Obviously I should do some research and see if that is the case. As for Idaho, looks like if it is going to happen it won't be for 2 more years. I'll have to move very carefully because I've got all these grandkids dependent on me doing the right thing.
Who would have thought at 60 I would not be free to do whatever I wanted to. Oh well..."Man plans, and God laughs."
It would have been better if all had been left alone. Now that the waters have been muddied you just know some plaintiff will get a lawsuit expedited to the USSC.
In our current climate, I wonder how they will rule?
I am again reminded of old Chinese curse, "Be careful what you wish for...you might get it."
Quote: truthkeeper wrote in post #14I would like to ask everyone a couple of questions in all seriousness.
1. How would you enforce such a law? Please be as specific as possible.
2. Should a "transgender" (IMO, a cross-dresser with mental health issues) choose to ignore any enforcement procedures and just walk into, and use, the opposite bathroom, what should happen to him/her?
I'm of the opinion that maybe our society has devolved to the point where we should not have community restrooms, at least not as currently set up. Go at home or only frequent facilities that have private stalls. Pretty soon maybe they all will, since it seems to be such a necessity all of a sudden.
Too many sue-happy SJWs with agendas and possibly too many pervs, although the jury is out on that. Is this REALLY that big of a problem?? I'm in California, but I must be really sheltered. This has never affected me in 60 years, nor anyone else I know. I have to wonder, up until now, where HAVE all the Drag Queens been going to the bathroom?
I do think that is the essence of what Donald was saying...do we really need a LAW on this matter? Why not just handle it the way we have the last 100 years? Meaning, in a civil society Moms (and Dads) should accompany their small kids to the bathrooms. What the heck would they be doing in there alone anyway? That is the essence of lazy parenting, expecting Big Daddy Government to watch your kid for you.
And if anyone is caught performing any funny business, report them, as I am sure it must be a crime with laws already on the books against it.
In short, can't this be issue be corrected through "the market" or do we actually need another law? How many more laws will need to passed as society deteriorates around us before we all have just had enough?
Good call. Trump has clarified that despite his own opinion this ought to be left up to individual states.
Part of Trump's appeal is that he does not parse his statements like a lawyer or politician. Unfortunately this can get him into trouble.

I am sorry to hear that as I know you wanted to get out of Lala land and move to ID where you would be safer and the political climate would be more conducive to your spirit. However, it sounds as if you have chosen the better part, helping others, even at sacrifice of your own preferences.
