Phyllis Schlafly endorses Trump Conservative icon calls GOP front-runner 'last hope for America' Published: 1 hour ago
(WASHINGTON EXAMINER) Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, who led the charge against the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s, has endorsed Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
The 91-year-old pro-family activist, who previously called Trump the “last hope for America,” took the podium at Trump’s campaign rally Friday afternoon in St. Louis to formally announce her support for the New York billionaire.
“I was born and grew up here, went to school and college in St. Louis and it’s a great city,” Schlafly told the crowd. “I welcome you all, this is the heart of America and I’m glad to meet a great American,” she said of Trump.
